Welcome to Unit 2.com, this site is focusing particularly on People in business organisations. Below is task 2

from the Job Roles Assignment.

I have chosen to do the second person that I researched for task 2. She works at Stamford Hospital for the NHS. She is an Outpatient service coordinator.

1. The activities and tasks undertaken by the employee in the job role.

- Routine tasks include:

Organising and sending out of outpatient appointments.

Making sure that doctors and consultants are aware of which clinics they need to attend.

Overseeing a busy casualty department.

Helping out where necessary.

Detailed description of how one routine task is completed:

- Making sure that doctors and consultants go to the right place is important because the patient may have a serious medical condition so thier life may depend on the meeting.

The doctor or consultant is first met at reception and then told where to go. If they do not know where to go . If they do not know where to go then the member of staff escorts then there (the Outpatient service coordinater).

- Non-routine tasks include:

Entertaining and escorting visiting consultants and health executives around the hospital.

Chaing meetings.

Dealing with unusual or difficult inquiries form members of the public.

A detailed description of how one non-routine task is completed:-

Dealing with dificult inquiries can be important because a hospital is always busy, so if the rception area cannot deal with the inquiry then they must hand it over,as there are other people who are also waiting. The issue is usually tried to be resolved quickly as well for the same reason.
